Where is my BookSmart data stored?
Your primary BookSmart library is stored locally in your browser in a client-side database.
Does BookSmart upload my bookmark library to its own servers?
BookSmart Local is designed without a central backend database for your bookmark library.
Do I need a BookSmart account?
The local-first design does not require a centralized BookSmart account for the bookmark library.
Can I use BookSmart on more than one computer?
Yes. Optional multi-device synchronization uses your own Google Drive for BookSmart synchronization data.
Do I need to pay for an AI model?
Not necessarily. BookSmart supports multiple AI options, including compatible on-device models, user-provided API keys and locally hosted models.
Can I import my existing Chrome bookmarks?
Yes. BookSmart supports bulk import of an existing Chrome bookmark library.
